Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 17, 2025
Last Updated: October 17, 2025

“What would I do if this was my house?”
This philosophy guides everything at Kitchens By Remote, including these terms.

1. Our Handshake Agreement

By using Kitchens By Remote’s website and services, you’re agreeing to these terms. Think of this as our handshake – I promise to treat you fairly and transparently, and you agree to work with me honestly. If something doesn’t sit right with you, let’s talk about it before moving forward.

2. What I Offer You

Kitchens By Remote provides:

  • Virtual Kitchen Design Consultations: Personal guidance from 30 years of experience
  • Cabinet Sales at Transparent Prices: Wholesale cost plus small markup – no games
  • 1,940+ Cabinet Options: From DL Cabinetry and other trusted manufacturers
  • Honest Advice: What I’d do if it was my house, every time
  • Direct Support: Call me at (307) 314-4623 when you need help

3. Virtual Consultation Details

How It Works: We’ll meet virtually to discuss your kitchen. I’ll share my screen, show you options, and help you make decisions. It’s like having me in your kitchen, minus the travel.

Consultation Fee: $97 for a comprehensive design session. This fee is 100% credited toward your cabinet purchase – essentially making it free when you buy.

Scheduling: Book at least 24 hours in advance. I respect your time and ask you to respect mine.

Cancellations: Life happens – just give me 24 hours notice. No-shows forfeit their consultation fee, but we can always reschedule.

What You Get: Professional design guidance, accurate measurements review, cabinet recommendations, and a detailed quote. What you don’t get: high-pressure sales tactics.

4. Cabinet Orders & Transparent Pricing

My Pricing Promise: Every quote shows exactly what I pay wholesale and my markup. No hidden fees, no surprise charges. If the price changes before you order, I’ll honor the original quote for 30 days.

Payment Terms: Full payment required before I order your cabinets. I accept Strike (save 2%), credit cards, and bank transfers. Why full payment? Because these are custom orders made specifically for you.

Lead Times: Most orders arrive in 6-8 weeks. Some items ship faster (2-3 weeks), others take longer (10-12 weeks). I’ll tell you upfront and keep you updated throughout.

Price Match: Find the exact same cabinets cheaper? Show me. I’ll either match it or explain why the “cheaper” option isn’t the same quality.

5. The Truth About Returns

Custom Cabinet Orders: These are made specifically for your kitchen – they cannot be returned. It’s like ordering a tailored suit – once it’s made for you, it’s yours. I’ll triple-check everything before ordering to avoid mistakes.

Damaged Items: Take photos of all boxes before opening. Report damage within 48 hours with photos. I’ll fight the shipping company for you and get replacements ASAP.

Wrong Items Shipped: If the manufacturer sends the wrong item, I’ll fix it at no cost to you. If we made an error in ordering, I’ll make it right.

Sample Doors: Order samples before committing. $20 each, credited toward your order. Much better to spend $100 on samples than $10,000 on the wrong color.

Warranty: Manufacturer warranties apply (usually limited lifetime on cabinets, 1-5 years on hardware). I’ll help with any warranty claims, though the final decision rests with the manufacturer.

6. Your Responsibilities

For this to work smoothly, I need you to:

  • Measure Accurately: Measure twice, order once. I’ll teach you how, but the measurements are your responsibility
  • Check Local Codes: Every area has different requirements. Check with your local building department
  • Arrange Installation: I design and supply, you install (or hire someone). I can recommend good installers
  • Inspect Deliveries: Check every box within 48 hours. The longer you wait, the harder it is to file claims
  • Communicate Honestly: If something’s wrong, tell me immediately. I can’t fix what I don’t know about

7. Design Ownership

The kitchen designs I create for you remain my intellectual property until you pay in full. Once paid, you own the design for your personal use. You can’t resell my designs or use them for other properties without permission. Think of it like buying a book – you own your copy, but not the rights to republish it.

8. Realistic Limitations

I promise to do my best, but I can’t be responsible for:

  • Installation Errors: I’ll guide you, but I’m not swinging the hammer
  • Shipping Delays: Weather, strikes, and pandemics are beyond my control
  • Measurement Mistakes: This is why we double and triple-check
  • Changed Minds: Once ordered, custom cabinets can’t be returned
  • Consequential Damages: I’m not liable for your contractor’s schedule or lost time

My maximum liability is limited to what you paid for the specific product or service. I stand behind my work, but I can’t insure your entire project.

9. Protecting Each Other

You agree to protect me from claims arising from your use of the cabinets or designs. Similarly, I protect your information and never share it with third parties. We’re in this together.

10. Your Privacy Matters

Your information is safe with me. No selling data, no spam, no sharing with competitors. Read my full Privacy Policy for details. I hate junk mail as much as you do.

11. If We Disagree

Let’s talk first. Most problems can be solved with a phone call. If we can’t work it out, we’ll use arbitration in Wyoming. It’s faster and cheaper than court for both of us. My goal is always to make things right.

12. Legal Stuff

These terms are governed by Wyoming law. Why Wyoming? That’s where I’m based. Don’t worry – I operate ethically regardless of geography.

13. Changes to Terms

If I need to update these terms, I’ll post changes here and email you if you’re a customer. Continued use means you accept the changes. I won’t make dramatic changes without good reason.

14. Payment Processing

Strike Payments: Save 2% by paying with Strike. It’s secure, instant, and keeps fees low.

Traditional Payments: Credit cards accepted but cost more in processing fees.

No Chargebacks on Custom Orders: Because these are made-to-order, all sales are final once production begins.

15. Communication

I prefer email for documentation, but you can always call (307) 314-4623 for urgent matters. I respond within 24 hours on business days. If you don’t hear from me, something’s wrong – call me.

16. The Fine Print

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms represent our entire agreement – no secret handshakes or hidden clauses.

17. Contact Me Directly

My Personal Guarantee

I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I treat every customer like family because that’s how I was raised. These terms protect both of us, but my real promise is simple: I’ll treat you fairly, give you honest advice, and help you get beautiful cabinets at a fair price. If I wouldn’t put it in my house, I won’t recommend it for yours.
